Born in Scotland's capital, he grew up learning piano, clarinet and saxophone, whilst honing his skills as a computer programmer. In 2002, he moved to Glasgow where he fell deeply for house and techno music due to the city’s vibrant scene.

In 2002, he moved to Glasgow where he fell deeply for house and techno music due to the city’s vibrant scene.
After receiving qualifications in sound engineering and computer games development, Stokes' productions were being picked up fast and he was quickly being invited to DJ in Glasgow and release music on both local and international labels and picking up support from top-rung international DJs such as Luciano, Marco Carola, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier and Sébastien Léger to name a but few.
Since 2008 he has been touring Europe with his live and DJ performances, whilst starting a business teaching music production from his studio in Glasgow. Sonically, it is hard to pin Simon down to one genre, with 2012 seeing him launch his new Petrichor project which focuses in on the fine details and melodies that have always riddled his productions, creating a more classic sound.
2013 will see the launch of a new project, Moniker, which comprises four artists residing in Glasgow coming together to push the boundaries of audio-visual performance. Expect a string of Moniker dates in the coming year.
