[Texto disponible solo en inglés] Andrea Sztojánovits is a Hungarian artist, media arts researcher and former assistant professor at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Her artistic and research practice investigates the relationship between image, sound, light, technology and human perception, moving between visual music, real-time audiovisual composition and light-based installation.

Her practice developed from real-time audiovisual composition toward an increasing focus on light and perception. Within this trajectory, visual music becomes a field for investigating how audiovisual stimuli can shape perceptual experience, while technological systems provide tools for constructing environments in which image, sound and light interact in real time.

Her recent artistic experiments draw on questions and concepts from neuroscience, with a particular interest in flicker-based perception and closed-eye visual phenomena. Through these investigations, she explores forms of visual experience that emerge through the interaction between sensory stimulation and perception, extending this research into immersive audiovisual environments.

Her work has been presented internationally, including at the Ludwig Museum Budapest, Modernity X Hungary in New York, Burning Man in Nevada, the Collegium Hungaricum in Rome and Berlin, the Deeep x Walter’s Cube Virtual Art Fair during Art Basel Miami Week, and at exhibitions and festivals in London, Vienna and Cairo, as well as at Live Performers Meeting in Cape Town.
