[Text available only in English] Artistic residency combining theory and hands-on practice focused on technologies and software for the design and production of videomapping performances.
SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: SUNDAY, APRIL 12
The residency takes place in the spaces of Castello Savelli in Palombara Sabina.
Over the course of 5 days, participants will develop a videomapping project on the Castle, which is then presented during the festival alongside invited artists.
The program covers the adaptation of video content to irregular and non-flat surfaces and architectures using different software for both PC and Mac, working with one or multiple projectors controlled by a single computer. Participants receive guidance in creating both static and animated content, based on their individual skills and backgrounds.
Videomapping is a projection technique that can transform virtually any surface into a screen. It lies at the intersection of art, architecture, and technology, enabling a new expressive form that temporarily reshapes our perception of spaces and objects.
Videomapping turns each projection into a unique performance, shaped by the characteristics of the surface and the specific features of the space. Various projection techniques are explored (urban surfaces, objects, theatre environments, live events), using MadMapper as the main software for PC and Mac, with references to Millumin and Resolume. Particular attention is given to content creation.
Participants learn how to manage video elements for theatrical performances, stage design, video installations, and VJing, connecting space, music, and visuals.
