[Text available only in English] Mycelium is an audiovisual performance that takes mycelium — the vegetative network of fungi — as a model of distributed, cooperative, and deeply interconnected intelligence. In nature, mycelium spreads through the soil as an invisible network, connecting plants, organisms, and nutrients, creating systems of exchange and communication that escape centralized logic. The performance draws inspiration from this organic structure to imagine an ever-evolving audiovisual ecosystem.
On stage, live electronic music and an artificial intelligence system generate sound and images simultaneously in real time. There is no pre-recorded content: the audiovisual flow emerges from the interaction between performer, algorithms, and generative parameters, in a dynamic process of listening, response, and transformation.
Synthetic sounds, digital textures, and rhythmic structures intertwine with organic visual forms, expanding patterns, and luminous morphologies reminiscent of the growth of mycelial networks. As in the underground environment, where each node influences the others, every sonic variation is reflected in the visual space and vice versa, generating an immersive sensory environment.
Mycelium thus becomes a metaphor for complex and interdependent systems, where human creativity and artificial intelligence coexist as parts of the same evolving network. Each performance is unique and unrepeatable: an audiovisual organism that is born, grows, and transforms in front of the audience.
