[Texto disponible solo en inglés] Giovanni D'Aloia (Bari, 1975) is a creative producer, director, and author acclaimed for his pioneering work in audiovisual and multimedia production, particularly transmedia storytelling. His professional journey began in 1998 with "21st Century Schizoid Man", a surreal short film/music video inspired by King Crimson, which was showcased at the Fano Film Festival, Off Festival, and Enzimi in Rome. In 2001, D'Aloia co-founded Kinotek with Mattia Casalegno, establishing a leading VJing and live media laboratory. Under Kinotek, he achieved significant recognition, winning the first Italian VJ contest at Arezzowave-Lovezone 2003 and curating visual direction for exclusive clubs and major festivals across Italy and Europe, mixing for numerous international DJs. His early collaborations also include intricate video editing for Paolo Monti's "Dune Sandpile" and live set preparations for Maurizio Martusciello's "Fronte d'onda" for the inauguration of Piazza Piccolo Mondo in Rome.
D'Aloia earned a degree in Communication Sciences from La Sapienza University of Rome in 2003, with a thesis exploring "syncresis and synesthesia in videoclip strategies." His profound interest in media convergence and transmedia storytelling, developing since 2008, led him to establish Kinovan in 2011. This innovative creative media company was recognized and selected by leading startup competitions such as Kublai and Working Capital.
Kinovan specializes in crossmedia services and introduced a unique mobile Crossmedia Production Unit. This unit is designed to bridge online communication with offline social spaces like public squares, allowing organizations and clients, including Invitalia and Museo Pascali, to engage their audiences through immersive audiovisual and transmedia content, effectively promoting cultural heritage and social projects with high impact. D'Aloia further shares his expertise by organizing courses and teaching workshops on video production, editing, and transmedia.
