[Texto disponible solo en inglés] Dream Console is a generative audiovisual project where the act of narrating dreams creates evolving visual scenes. In this project, users are encouraged to tell their dreams, memories or parts of it into a physical console. As the story is being told, the system interprets its atmosphere, motifs, characters, emotional changes and archetypical imagery, creating a continuous visual scene based on that interpretation. Dream Console does not try to visualize the dreams directly. Instead it lets the machine re-dream them. Images are generated, change and disappear as users are still talking about them, making the process of storytelling a performative act where imagination meets machine. Furthermore, Dream Console tries to explore the idea of the collective artificial unconscious. The project allows certain recurring motifs and traces to exist between the different acts of interaction so that dreams of previous visitors affect the subsequent ones and allow the machine to develop its own visual memories based on the input of the audience. With this approach, Dream Console aims at exploring themes of memory, imagination and authorship within generative systems and asks a question of how does the process of interpreting human experience through the use of artificial intelligence look like.
