SOLARPUNK42 : BRECCIA
STONE → BREACH → VOICES → CLOUD
BRECCIA is an audiovisual research project exploring the passage from stone to voice.
The project reads Rome as a layered living archive: from the Forma Urbis, where the city is literally carved into marble, through the Breccia di Porta Pia as a historical rupture and cinematic passage, towards contemporary voices, memories, images and point clouds.
The 10-minute showcase presents the current visual prototypes, methodology and sound research.
The version presented at LPM will integrate voices, stories and, where possible, portraits connected to the people and places surrounding the event. If LPM has existing recordings, testimonies or archival material that can be shared in advance, I would use them as source material and work on their sonic and visual texture, transforming voices and faces into granular sound, visual strata and point clouds.
If such material is not available beforehand, I would collect these voices and portraits directly in Rome, either shortly before or during LPM, from local inhabitants, crew members, artists and participants.
The aim is to make these voices and faces part of the work itself, connecting the history of the place with the living memory of LPM and its surroundings.
The city does not speak only through its monuments: it also speaks through the voices and traces of those who inhabit it - past, present and future.
