**Solo AV performance — 30 min**
*Barking dogs don't bite. Or do they?*
**ghost dogs** is a solo audiovisual performance about inherited memories — memories that change shape, disappear without warning, surface again when least expected. That we only recognise as our own once they begin to leave.
Super 8 footage, family photographs, places that belonged to great-grandparents and are visited now for the first time: the images are dreamy and unsettling, carrying time that was never directly experienced but somehow already known. Layered over them — water in motion, brain scans — the visual material moves between the intimate and the physiological, asking what the body holds that the mind has not yet named.
Trauma passed down through generations does not announce itself. It lives in gestures, in fears with no obvious origin, in the shape of a family's silences. **ghost dogs** works with this invisible inheritance: present in the background, never fully visible, never fully gone.
Dark drone music, composed for the performance, moves slowly beneath the images — dense, pressurized, alive with something just out of reach. Live analog video synthesis and output mapping transform archival and found material in real time, glitching and overlaying until document and dream become indistinguishable.
When a trauma finally fades, we notice — sometimes for the first time — that it was also part of who we are. The dogs at the threshold bark. We are only now learning whether they were ever ours.
